Covid-19 Update

We are delighted to announce we will be reopening The Knowes Hotel and Restaurant on Wednesday 15th July, in line with guidance from The Scottish Government.

Our priority is always the health, well being and safety of our staff and guests.  Covid-19 has fundamentally changed the way in which we live, and we fully understand our guests will seek further reassurances of our practices to ensure they can enjoy our service offerings with complete peace of mind over the coming months.

Good To Go

Staff at The Knowes Hotel have successfully completed the Good To Go Covid-19 industry standard,

in partnership with Visit Scotland and The National Tourist Organisations of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.  

This confirms The Knowes Hotel has followed government and industry Covid-19 guidelines, ensuring processes are in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social/physical distancing.

What You Can Expect

We have implemented a number of measures to ensure the health and safety of all our guests:

  • Hand sanitizer is readily available and guests are encouraged to use it when entering the building and during their visit
  • When dining with us, your server will ask if you would like a hard copy of our menu, or direct you to an electronic downloadable menu on your own mobile phone or tablet
  • We will be utilizing the Restaurant Dining Area as well as our Function Suite for meals to ensure we provide sufficient distancing and allow you plenty of space to enjoy your visit
  • We accept debit and credit card payments and encourage use of these, but we will also accept cash payments
  • Our rigorous cleaning and sanitizing procedures across our dining areas and bedrooms have been further enhanced

What You Can Do To Help

Please do not visit or enter The Knowes Hotel if you feel unwell or are experiencing any of the key symptoms of Covid-19.  Full details of symptoms are available on the NHS Inform website.  

If you are unable to make your booking due to ill health, please let us know as soon as you can by telephone.  

For guests who are well and able to visit us, please maintain social distancing during your visit and respect any requests made by our staff to ensure your health and safety throughout.

Please be patient and understanding with our staff, we are all learning to work in these new circumstances, yet we really want to ensure your visit is enjoyable and of the high standard you expect from us.
